DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMICS

The Department of Economics was established in 1997 and offers undergraduate (UG) programs. The department follows a semester system for its UG courses, with the option of Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) or Ability-Based Credit System (ABCS) for students. There are no interdisciplinary courses or collaborations with other departments, and the department does not currently offer courses in collaboration with other universities, industries, or foreign institutions. Additionally, there is no participation from the department in courses offered by other departments.

The vision of the institution is to promote academic excellence by creating an enriching and collaborative environment that nurtures intellectual curiosity and personal growth. With a commitment to holistic development, the institution aims to empower students with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to become self-reliant individuals. The ultimate goal is to produce well-rounded, socially responsible individuals who can contribute meaningfully to the advancement of society in an ever-evolving world.

The mission of the institution is to empower students to effectively address social, national, and global challenges while creating opportunities for value-based learning through collaborative efforts in today’s technologically-driven era. The institution is committed to fostering an environment where academic excellence is paired with the development of strong ethical values and social responsibility.

The primary objectives of the institution are:

  1. To provide a conducive educational environment that shapes well-rounded and capable individuals.
  2. To nurture good character, integrity, and high moral standards in students.
  3. To instill values of community service, national integrity, national pride, religious tolerance, and an aesthetic sense for environmental sustainability.
  4. To use education as a tool for human growth and social mobility, empowering students to contribute positively to society.
  5. To develop essential competencies such as strong communication skills, technological awareness, accountability, leadership qualities, sound judgment, decision-making abilities, and the necessary professional skills to excel in diverse fields.
